     Mary Rogers was born between 22 September 1643 and 1644 at Duxbury, Plymouth County, MA. She married John Finney, son of John Finney and Christian Finney, between 10 August 1663 and 1664 at Barnstable, MA. Mary Rogers died between 19 April 1717 and 1718 at Barnstable, MA.

     Mary CAtharine Rogers married William Edwin Ross, son of Chauncy Ross and Mary Abigail Hawkins, on 19 November 1893.

     Matilda Rogers was born in October 1878 at New York.
     Eliza named this child after her mother Matilda Sherman, even though she had been disowned by her parents for marring the Irish Catholic Thomas Rogers, and never had contact with them again. She was Type: Record Change on 28 July 1999.

     Mercy Rogers married John Walworth, son of John Walworth and Patience Denison.
     Married name: Walworth.

     Michael Rogers married Ellen MacAneny. Michael Rogers was born in 1810 at Ireland. He died after 1862 at New York, NY.
     He was Type: Identifier Number 44. 1 Jul 1982- visit to the National Archives in Bayonne revealed in the 1850 Census the existance of this man, his family, and the fact that he was an illiterate laborer born in Ireland. The fact that records exist on him gave impetus to further family research. The fact that this Census was the first to list the names and ages of all in the household, and tells us much about the Rogers family, despite the fact that only the father is listed as having been born in Ireland. Family stories relate that they all came from Ireland, and son Thomas's death certificate states he was 6 years old when he emigrated from Ireland.

There was also a notation that James, John, Thomas and Charles attended school in the past year. (Their parents no doubt wanted them to have the advantages Michael didn't have.)
The NYC Directory gives the following information, but so far it has not been definitely proven that they are our Rogers family, although Michael was a laborer, and carmen and coalmen would come under that category.

This is surely our family, because the same year the Grahams
lived at 228 Sullivan, and Eliza and Thomas were neighbors. The 1860 Census also confirms this address for the family.

     Rose Rogers was born in 1589/90 at Stratford, Warwickshire, England. She was christened on 29 March 1590 at Stratford, England.

     Ruth Rogers was born in 1910. She died in 1968 unmarried.

     Samuel Rogers married Patience Potts, daughter of William Potts and Rebecca Avery, on 28 April 1707 at Groton, CT.

     Sarah Rogers was born between 6 August 1632 and 1633 at Duxbury, Plymouth County, MA. She died between 15 August 1632 and 1633 at Duxbury, Barnstable County, MA.

     Susan Rogers was born in January 1532 at Antwerp, Brabant, Belgium.

     Thomas Rogers was christened between 6 May 1637 and 1638 at Plymouth, MA. He was born on 29 March 1638 at Duxbury, Plymouth County, MA. He died on 15 March 1669/70 at Eastham, Barnstable County, MA, at age 31.

     Thomas Rogers was born in 1565 at Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire, England. He married Alice Calle on 5 November 1581. Thomas Rogers died between 7 August 1607 and 1608 at Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire, England. He was buried on 20 February 1610/11 at England.
     NOTE: It seems strange that he died in 1607/8 and was buried in 1611! He was from PAF computer.

     Thomas Rogers was buried at Calvary Cemetery, NY. He was born on 16 June 1841 at Ireland. He married Eliza A. Graham, daughter of David Graham and Matilda Sherman, in 1862. Thomas Rogers died on 11 September 1914 at New York, NY, at age 73.
     He was Type: Identifier Number 22. The 1850 Census lists his as age 9, born in NY.
His Death certificate,#26922, indicates that he was born in Ireland and came to the US in 1847 (age 6 - this is more probable- the height of the potato famine)
According to the 1859-60 NYC Directory, his father was listed as living at 233 Sullivan St, the same year the Grahams lived at 228 Sullivan St.
No record of time of his marriage has been found. His first childwas born in 1863- Where were they
between 1859-60, when he was living at home with parents at 233 Sullivan St.
and 1865-66 Directory listing? Civil War? Not in NY? He was part owner of the marble works of Kelly and Rogers

at age 73. He was buried in Calvary. Joanne Roche Cleary said in 1986 that she recalls hearing from an older relative that he used to go into drunken rages and that his wife Eliza was terrified.

When his granddaughter Elizabeth Callanan married Francis Lavelle, one of the old workman from his marbleworks made her the round inlaid marble table which she had in her NY apartment, and came to Oradell after her death.

BIOGRAPHY: When his grandaughter Elizabeth Callanan married Francis Lavelle, a man who had worked for Rogers made a marble topped table as a wedding gift. She had it in her apartment until her death, when it went to 450 Oradell Ave.

BIOGRAPHY: It is possible that the patterned marble is Irish - Black marble comes from Galway, green from Connemara, and rose from Cork.

BIOGRAPHY: 19 June 1987- From a conversation with Joanne Cleary, his great-grandaughter:
Joanne had been in correspondence with one of his daughters some time earlier and the daughter reminisced about her father Thomas. Evidently he was a real terror when he indulged in binge drinking, and his wife Elizabeth was terrified of him in that condition. He was Type: Record Change on 21 January 2002.

Thomas Rogers The Pilgrim died between 12 November 1637 and 1638 at Duxbury, Plymouth County, MA. He was buried between 20 August 1638 and 1639 at Burial Hill, Plymouth, MA.
