Whittier's Company, Colonel Samuel Johnson (4th Essex Company) regiment; age 30 years, stature, 5 feet 8 inches, residence, Methuen; engaged for the town of Methuen; arrived at Fishkill July 4, 1778; Also found thus; Lazarus Hubbard, returns, etc. of 2nd Dracut Company; list of persons who hired men for 5 months service at Canada to the credit of the town of Dracut, agreeable to order of Congress of June, 1776; said Hubbard hired by Robert Nicholas.¹
