     Jacobus Joralemon was born on 8 October 1748.¹ He was baptized on 30 October 1748 at Second River, NJ.¹

     Jacobus Janse Joralemon was born circa 1665 at Albany, NY.¹ He married Pieterje Claes, daughter of Claes Jansen Van Permerend and Annetje Van Vorst, on 12 December 1696 at Hackensack, NJ.¹ (Banns for Jacobus Janse Joralemon and Pieterje Claes publ. On 22 November 1696 at Dutch Reformed Church, Bergen (Jersey City), NJ.)¹ He died between 26 March 1757 and December 1760. His estate was probated on 20 December 1760 Derrick served as the executor of his father's estate and inherited all of his real and personal estate.¹
     He lived in December 1695 at Bergen (now Jersey City), Hudson County, NJ, where he purchased 24 acres of land within the bounds of Newark on the east side of the third river.¹ He was in 1709 a carpenter; and in 1757 a wheelwright and carpenter.¹      Jacobus was elected deacon of the Dutch Church in Acquackanonck in May 1709, May 1711, and May 1714.
