     Cornelis Kortreght was born in 1720. He was christened on 27 November 1720 at Dutch Reformed Church, Kingston, Ulster County, NY.2 He married Eleanor L Hornbeck. He married Maria Schoonmaker. He died in 1785 at Hampshire County, VA.
     Cornelis purchased land in what is now Hardy Co., WV from Lord Fairfax who received it from the British Crown. His name appears on a land deed in what is now WV. The connection to Laurens Cortright is uncertain. Two of his sons are progenitors of two major lines of Cortrights. (Info from Bob Brown, Prodigy.)
