Samuel Cyrus Benjamin was born on 15 September 1858 at Haverstraw, NY.³ He married Mary Ida Johnson, daughter of William D Johnson and Frances I Quackenbush, on 16 September 1883 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Newburgh, NY.^1,3 He married Emily Johnson, daughter of William D Johnson and Frances I Quackenbush, on 25 January 1905.³ He died on 29 January 1913 at Hackensack, NJ, at age 54.³ He was buried in the Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack.³
He lived after March 1888 at Hackensack, NJ.³ Samuel was a brick maker all of his life, first at Spencer, NY, then Haverstraw, NY and finally Little Ferry, NJ. After the blizzard of March 1888 Samuel was a volunteer in the Hackensack Fire Department.³
