We will be hosting an event, "A First Draft of History: Using Newspaper to Learn About Mahwah's Past," on October 25th from 7:00PM - 8:30PM at the Mahwah Public Library in the Winter Room.
Dr. Cathy Moran Hajo and members of the Mahwah Newspaper Project will talk about their grant funded project digitizing newspaper clippings held by the Mahwah Museum. Dr. Moran Hajo will discuss stories historians can find in the news, providing examples, and demonstrate how to use them. Project participants will discuss interesting clippings and stories uncovered through the project. She will also discuss volunteer opportunities in this ongoing project-- transcribing clippings, scanning and entering clippings and reviewing work.

We are also looking for interested for people who would like to share interesting stories/experiences about what they have found during their time volunteering! Please let me know if you are interested in speaking for a bit or have any questions!
