Yesterday’s Bride will give you a glimpse of bridal costumes from 1858 through the 1930s. Learn how social mores, economy, and even war have influenced bridal fashion and weddings. Discover the origins of wedding customs and superstitions and the reasons and roots of Western wedding traditions for everything from veils, garters, and flowers to dances, honeymoons, shoes, rice and the seemingly unimportant boutonniere on the groom’s lapel.  The presentation will also track the correlation between style and suffrage.

Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Call 201-447-3242 or visit [email protected] for reservations, or you may register at the door: $10.00 for members, $15.00 for non-members. Tickets to be paid at the door.
