He was the head of a family of five.5 He lived circa 1795 at Roaring Creek, VA, Several years later he moved to Clarke County, KY where he applied for a pension as a veteran of the Revolutionary War.1 From Pennsylvania, Peter settled in Pleasant District, Preston County, VA (now WV).
There are several typewritten pages in the DeWitt file containing a description of Peter's activities during the Revolutionary War and his pension application.2
