However, it is clearly Ellen Jane Tuers: her mother's name is Ellen, and she has a brother John J (although his age is a bit off). However, Ellen Jane is still listed with her maiden name; the children are clearly Van Imburgh (which seems more reasonable than Vanenburgh). I have for the moment left the marriage with Helen, but put the census with Ellen only. See also the note with Ellen's brother John Jasper Tuers.³ Name variation: Ellen Tuers.

John Tuers mother, Maria, is listed as living with family. This family may not be the correct Garret Tuers
Ann E (age 42) W, is listed living with Aaron Tuerse, in the 1870 Census, Saddle River Twp, Paterson, with Garry, age 13 in the household. We suspect this family is not in our direct line, and is not the same Aaron Tuers as our gggrandfather who most commonly is listed as living in Washington Towship, Bergen, NJ. UNCONFIRMED.

It does not mention his wife, but mentions children, and his daugher-in-law Leah (but does not note whether she is wife of James Van Winkle Tuers or Abraham Tuers). Executors, son Jerred and Simeon Brown (Trenton, 15711 G, Notes in Randolph.)⁴

An active homemaker, Irene was short and chubby, but had a great personality. She was noted as a fantastic cook and baker. She also crocheted beautifully, making doilies, table cloths, afghans, etc. There was always music in the house. The family had a piano that Beatrice played for the family, and everyone always joined in singing or whistling. The home was a social gathering place for all of the family and friends.² Married name: Post.
