His will dated Dartmouth 29 March 1697, proved 30 June 1704, bequeaths to then eldest son William, son John, son Nathan, daughter Deborah, Daughters Mary, Lydia and Sarah when they reach eighteen; well-beloved wife Deborah and son William to execute the estate. The widow Deborah repudiated the will on "ye 22 day of y e 4th month 1704". His granddaughter Mary Coggeshall, daughter of son George, contested his will and was awarded (1719) a share representing her father's rights.
