     He was born around 1891. On a visit to Germany in 1983, he showed us Augsburg, and was responsible for information on the Huber line - said that while they were required to research by the government (he was a government employee in Augsburg), he'd gotten interested and gone even further back. Beacause the surname Jakob could possibly have been Jewish, the genealogy had to go back further than usual.

He had 2 sons, Karl and Fritz- Karl never returned to Germany to live after WWII, and Fritz lost a leg on the last day of the war.


After his wife died, he moved from Augsburg(about 1982) to Lindau to live with his half-sister Friedl, when he was 92 and she was 82. A year or so later they moved to an old people's home in Aichach, the town in which they were raised.¹

     She appeared on the census of 1871 in the household of John James and Ellen Whiting at Kings Norton, Worcestershire, England; They are living at King's Heathe Bleke Lane Lodge to King's Heath House, Kings Norton. Ada Mary is listed with the surname Whiting, step-daughter of John James. Amy K James is listed as his daughter.³
     She lived in a small house behind Uncle George's house. She kept a chicken coop out behind the house where Cindy used to gather eggs. Married name: Ada Mary Truss.

     She and Roelof Jansen van Maesterlandt immigrated on 21 March 1630 from Texel to New Amsterdam on the "Eendracht" with two children.³ She left a will on 29 January 1663.³      Countless law suits were filed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries claiming that farmland leased by Anneke Jans to Trinity Church was never returned to Anneke's heirs after the lease expired. This land now forms a major part of the financial district of New York City.⁷
