     Frederick attended Seward Institute, graduated from Union College and studied medicine at Bellevue and NY Homeopathic College. He started a practice in Middletown but because of poor health went to New Mexico in 1876 and returned in 1882. He settled in Goshen where he was in general practice until 1899 when he established Interpines. Interpines was a sanatorium for the cure of mental and nervous diseases. Info from Headley, Hist.      Samuel Swezy Seward M.D. was born on 5 December 1768 at Hardyston, Sussex County, NJ. He married Mary Jennings in 1795. He died in 1849.
     Dr. Seward had a large mercantile business and an extensive practice. He served a term in the Assembly in 1804 and was a county court judge for 17 years. In 1846 he established the Seward Institute in Florida, NY.
