     Edward V Callanan was born in 1883.¹ He married Eda. She prob. died in 1980.¹ He died in 1961. He was buried on 22 May 1961 in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside.¹

     Elizabeth Regina Callanan was born on 22 April 1895 at New York, NY.¹ She married (1) Francis Michael Lavelle, son of Peter J Lavelle and Mary E Bowe, on 25 June 1921 (Church of the Ascension, 107th St., NYC, NY.)¹ Elizabeth Regina Callanan married (2) Timothy Eugene Cohalan circa 1941 (,NY.)¹ Elizabeth Regina Callanan died on 12 April 1978 at New York, NY.¹ She was buried on 15 April 1978 in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside.¹

     Lil, or Liz as she was sometimes called, attended Hunter College High School and graduated from Hunter College with a science degree in 1917. She had already met Francis Lavelle through his sister Rose, a fellow Hunter College student, before he went overseas in WWI. She and her classmate, future bridesmaid and lifelong friend Gladys Smith, took the very demanding 3 day test required by NYC to be certified to teach in the school system and she scored near the top (according to Gladys, who said that in those days to even get to take the test you had to be related to a priest or politician). Peter Lavelle, her future father-in-law had been a member of the Board of Education of NYC from 1912-1916, probably through the influence of his brother, Monsignor Michael Lavelle, rector of St. Patrick's Cathedral.¹
     When Elizabeth married Francis Lavelle, a man who had worked for her grandfather Rogers made a marble topped table as a wedding gift. She had it in her apartment until her death, when it went to 450 Oradell Ave.¹ Married name: Lavelle. Married name: Cohalan.

     According to the records of the Emigrant Savings Bank, stored in the New York Public Library, John Callanan and Mary Staunton were the parents of Edward Callanan, who emigrated in 1848. Edward stated he was a native of Ballybane, three miles from Craughwell, County Galway.¹

     Lenora Callanan was born in 1903.¹ She married Charles Kenworthy.¹

     Lenora Callanan lived at Basking Ridge, NJ.¹ Her daughter Patricia told how her parents met:
Nola's older sister Julia and her husband were living in the Panama Canal Zone, where he was working, and Julia invited her sister Nola to come visit her there. On her way back on the boat, she met Charles Kenworthy (about 1930?), whose family came from Iowa.
In 1992, Pat said he had a brother still living in California.¹ Married name: Kenworthy.

     Michael J Callanan was born on 22 August 1854 at New York, NY.¹ He married (1) Jennie L (?) on 17 November 1880.¹ Michael J Callanan married (2) Emma L Rogers, daughter of Thomas Rogers and Eliza A Graham, on 28 June 1894 at New York, NY.¹ Michael J Callanan died on 30 December 1910 at New York, NY.¹ He was buried in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, plot #15 on 16.¹

     Michael went to Xavier, then called Xavier College.¹ His obituary (New York Times):
     Michael and his brother Thomas were partners of Edward Callanan Sons Carriage works, which had been founded by their father Edward, who had learned the carriage building trade in Ballybane, County Galway. For thirty years it was located at 57 W 44th St. (Hotel Algonquin is at 56 W. 44th St. across the street and the New York Yacht Club is at #37, a few doors away.) By 1903 it was at 315 W. 43rd St. Business cards and stationary in 1903 indicated that the family was living at 202 W 105th St.
On 12 Jul 1904 Michael Callanan entered J. Brewster & Co., a well known carriage maker whose carriages may be found in collections from New York to the LaDew Gardens in Maryland, and on 10 Jan 1909 he was employed by F.H. Bunge Auto and Carriage Builders. On May 5, 1910 (the year he died of cirrhosis of liver), he wrote a note to daughter Emma ('Tommee') on stationery with this letterhead:
It is presumed that loss of the Callanan business and subsequent changes of employments were caused by alchoholism.

     Thomas Callanan was born on 8 October 1860.¹ He died on 12 May 1913.¹

     Eve Calyer and John Provost lived at Bushwick, NY, in the stone farmhouse built by their common ancestor Peter Praa about 1663.¹ Married name: Provost.

     Jacobus Calyer was baptized on 9 February 1653.² He married (1) Marytje DeWitt, daughter of Pieter Jans DeWit and Dorothea Volkerts, circa 1674.^2,3 Jacobus Calyer married (2) Maryken Thom on 16 November 1699 at New York City, NY.² Jacobus Calyer died in 1720 at Bushwick, NY.²

     Jacobus lived in a 70 acre farm at Bushwick on which seven large churches would stand later. His home was a stone house on the East River at Bushwick Creek that had been erected by Dirck Volckertszen in about 1650.¹
