     Nicausey Hopper was born in 1761.¹ He was baptized on 25 January 1761 at Paramus, NJ.² He married Marytje Zabriskie, daughter of Jacob J Zabriskie and Jannetje Brevoort. He died on 12 June 1836.¹ He was buried in the Old Stone Church Cemetery.
     Name variation: Niklaas Hopper.² He and Marytje Zabriskie lived in the sandstone Hopper-Lack house above present day Hopper Farm Road.³      In July 1812, Marytje and Nicausey helped found the Dutch Reformed Church at Saddle River, before that time it had been part of the Paramus Reformed Church. After 1812 they started to keep their own records.²      Nicausey had extensive land holdings going from Old Stone Church Rd up to the NY state line.²

     Peter J Hopper was born on 25 May 1805.¹ He was baptized on 23 June 1805 at Paramus, NJ.¹ He married Hannah Eccerson, daughter of John I Eccerson and Charity Johnson, on 20 March 1824 at Saddle River Reformed Church.¹ He died on 28 September 1831 at age 26.¹
     He lived with Hannah's parents, the old Dutch sandstone house on Chestnut Ridge Rd just north of Weiss Rd.¹
