     Henry Winton married Zora.1 He was born on 14 February 1848 at St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.1 He married Anna Marie Lozier, daughter of George Joost Lozier III and Catherine Verveelen, on 11 May 1869 at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ.1 He died on 11 May 1917 at Newark, NJ, at age 69.1
     Henry moved to Hackensack in 1861 and entered his father's newspaper office at age 16.After 6 years he was made a partner in the concern called E. Winton and Son. He was editor of the Bergen County Democrat. He was a delegate to the Democratic Convention in Cincinatti in 1880. Henry was appointed by Gov. Abbet as one of the managers of the State Isane Asylum at Morris Plains. He served as clerk of the House of Assembly in 1884 and for 5 years as Sec. of the Senate. He was president of the NJ Editorial Assoc. in 1887 and a member of the NY Press Club. In 1880 he was elected to the Assembly and reelected in 1884 for a 3 year term. He was senator from Bergen County 1890 to 1895 and served as chairman of the Committees on Corporations., Treasurer's Accounts and Printing. He was a member of Pioneer Lodge F and A M, Odd Fellows, Elks and trustee of the Unitarion Church of Newark.1
