Book Talk: A History Lover’s Guide to Bergen County
Presentation by Bob Nesoff & Howard Kohn

Summary: From the crossroads of the American Revolution to the construction of the George Washington Bridge, New Jersey's Bergen County has a history that has shaped not only the metropolitan area, but the nation itself.

Featuring narratives of key historical moments, legendary personalities and fascinating landmarks, this guide to Bergen County's past is essential for any resident or visitor alike. Take a copy along as you traverse the county and discover the historic sites within and the stories behind them.

The authors will sign books purchased at the event.

Presenters:
Bob Nesoff is a career journalist. He was a reporter for The Record and the Newark News. He was last Executive Editor for New York Lifestyles Magazine. As a journalist he was presented with more than 40 awards for his writing. A History Lovers Guide to Bergen County is his second book. The first, a novel Spyder Hole, about terrorist, has sold the movie rights. His next, about the Federal agent who brought Al Capone down and was instrumental in solving the Lindbergh kidnapping will be out in the fall. He is currently working on a book about the rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox.

 

 

Howard Cohn was a New York educator with degrees (BA) from CCNY and MFA in Fine Arts from Lehman College of CUNY. He served on the board of trustees for the  New Jersey State Museum and was president of the New Jersey Paleontological   Society. He honed his writing skills with articles for the newsletters of organizations he belonged to. He has always had a great interest in history. He is an avid fossil collector with an abiding interest in history.
