Join us for a special guided tour of the Ridgewood Historical Society’s (RHS) exhibition 250 Years of Progress: A Celebration of Our Nation’s Independence and Endurance.

This major exhibition in the Museum at the Schoolhouse traces our nation’s journey over the past 250 years from the Revolution to today—through triumphs, trials, and defining moments that shaped the American experience. Explore historic artifacts, remarkable innovations, and everyday inventions that reveal the nation’s enduring spirit and evolving promise of liberty and equality.

And, many of the artifacts have Bergen County connections, with artifacts from the Ackermans, Bantas, Bogerts, and many more Bergen County families.

Exhibition Curator Anthony Cavo will lead our tour, sharing stories about selected objects on display, identify artifacts related to Bergen County families, and discuss the inspiration behind the exhibition and his choices. Together, we’ll explore 250 years of American innovation and history, with a special focus on the local stories and connections represented in the collection.

RSVP as soon as possible. The guided tour is limited to 20 people!

• GSBC members and their guests will receive priority for the 1 pm GSBC tour. (And if you are not yet a member, we hope you’ll consider joining us!) GSBC Members and Guests = Free.
• Non-members, and guests who are not attending with a GSBC member, will be notified if space becomes available for the 1pm tour or have the option to join a later tour that same day. We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience this excellent exhibition with its Curator and will strive to accommodate everyone. Suggested donation = $5 per person.

RHS Annual Halloween Cemetery Walks
The same weekend, the Ridgewood Historical Society will be conducting their annual Halloween Cemetery Walk of the Valleau Cemetery across the street as a fundraiser for the Society. Visit the Society’s events page for more information. The Cemetery Walks sell out quickly!
