June Program + GSBC General Meeting
Monday, 25 June, 7 PM
Ridgewood Public Library—All Are Welcome

Cynthia Forster, Elaine Gold, and Janet Strom

“The Genealogy of a House” will look at old houses and their various occupants: how they shaped the house and how the house shaped them. The program will draw on some current cases and will explain what resources are available at the county level to discover more about your home.

Cynthia Forster is the Director of the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs (DCHA).

Janet Strom is Historian at Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs (DCHA) and has been with the DCHA for 18 years.

The Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs was established by the Freeholders to advise on County historic preservation matters, administer the historic preservation component of the Open Space, Recreation, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund, and the annual Commendation Awards Program.

Elaine Gold serves as Administrator for the Bergen County Historic Preservation Trust Fund for the Bergen County Historic Preservation Advisory Board. The Historic Preservation Trust Fund Program provides grants for the acquisition, stabilization, rehabilitation, restoration, and preservation of historic sites as well as the preparation of plans and reports associated with the implementation of historic preservation capital projects by the County, municipalities, and qualified non-profit organizations. https://www.co.bergen.nj.us/205/Historic-Preservation-Grant-Program
