John and his brother William went to Canada to live with relatives and John came back to Hoboken about 1917, when he married Cathrine V Peters. His sisters were sent to a convent in Hoboken until they were old enough to work. Mary, Margaret and Jule were never adopted.
John had four children: Irene (1919), Cathrine (Cassy, 1921), John Jr. (1928), and Thomas (1933). John's wife Catherine died of cancer in 1955, John died in 1979. They are both buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Kearny, NJ.4
