     Elenor Hennion was born on 15 June 1802.¹ She married Henry Abraham Vreeland, son of Abraham Vreeland and Jannitje Ferver, on 27 February 1819 at DRC, Pompton Twp, Passaic County, NJ, (Pompton Reformed Church records.)² Elenor Hennion died on 3 March 1896 at Passaic County, NJ.

     Ellen's name is noted as Elinor, Elenor, Eleanor in different public documents.²

     Fitje Hennion was born on 20 April 1744.¹ She married Jacob Van Newkirk, son of Poulus Van Newkirk and Helena Spier, on 13 February 1769.¹ Fitje Hennion died on 23 January 1808.¹

     Mariah Hennion was born on 24 September 1806.¹ She married Charles H. Sanford, son of John Sanford and Catherine De Bow. Mariah Hennion died on 3 August 1893.¹ She was buried in Old Butler Cemetery in Butler.²

     In the will of her father, Tunis, Maria was deeded a lot of land in Morris County, where she resided. Married name: Sanford.

     Martin Hennion was born circa 20 February 1804.¹ He married (1) Sally Van Buskirk. Martin Hennion married (2) Leah Westervelt on 18 May 1840.¹ Martin Hennion died on 31 July 1877.¹

     Son John was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Saddle River.¹ Name variation: Martin Henyon.¹

     Nathaniel Petersen Hennion was born at Leyden, The Netherlands.¹ He married Anneken Ackerman, daughter of David Ackerman and Lysbeth deVilliers, on 28 June 1644.¹

     Peter Hennion was born on 13 July 1777.¹ He married Mary Van Blarcom.¹

     Tunis Hennion married (1) Sophia Witty. Tunis Hennion married (2) Mary Chandler. Tunis Hennion died before 29 January 1847.¹

     Tunis Hennion made a will on 2 March 1846 at Passaic County, NJ. It was proved 29 Jan 1847. He bequethed the residue of his estate to his three daughters. His witnesses were David H. Reeve, Richard Sloan and Isreal C. Reeve. His executors were Charles H. Sandford and Daniel G. Smith (Passaic Co. #5484.)¹

     Elizabeth Hepburn was born on 17 April 1814 at Milford, CT.¹ She married John Christopher O'Connor, son of Nicholas O'Connor and Sarah Ross, on 24 December 1838.¹ Elizabeth Hepburn died on 7 May 1898.¹

     Peter Hepburn was born on 24 April 1732 at Stratford, CT.¹ He married Mary Cobb (?) on 22 November 1764.¹ Peter Hepburn died on 20 September 1816.¹

     Richard J Hepburn was born on 12 April 1777 at Derby, CT.¹ He married Harriet Miles, daughter of John Miles and Jane Green, on 17 November 1805.¹ Richard J Hepburn died on 17 May 1865.¹

     Elva Grace Herbert was born in 1921 at Bergen County, NJ.¹ She died on 6 July 2007 at Los Angeles, CA.¹

     The obituary of Elva Grace Herbert appeared on 25 July 2007 in the Los Angeles Times.¹

     Maritie Hercks was baptized on 10 November 1647 in the Dutch Reformed Church at New Amsterdam.² She married Evert Aertszen, son of Aert Willemszen and Weyntje Elberts, on 2 February 1673.²

     Belitje Hercx was baptized on 4 February 1652.² She married Conraet Ten Eyck, son of Conraet Ten Eyck and Maria Boele, on 19 May 1675.^1,2,3 (Banns for Belitje Hercx and Conraet Ten Eyck publ. On 25 April 1675 at Dutch Reformed Church, New York City, NY.)⁴

     Teunis Hercxen was baptized on 4 July 1655.¹ He married Sophia Hendrix, daughter of Hendrick Martanszen and Margaret Meyhring, between 10 August 1679 and 10 September 1679.¹

     Teunis Hercxen lived at Cortlandt Manor, Westchester County, NY.¹ Name variation: Theunis Kronkhite.¹ Name variation: Thunis Herricsen Krankheyt.² Name variation: Teunis Herck.³ Name variation: Theunis Kranckheyt Herricksen.⁴

     Adelia Hering was born on 15 April 1865.²

     Adline Hering died 6 July 1887 at Palisade Township, leaving 3 grandchildren. Thomas A. Eckerson and John D. Blauvelt, executors.¹ Possibly Adline Hering is the mother of Maria A Haring.

     Charles Peter Hering was born on 3 April 1905. He married Hazel L. Turse, daughter of Sanford Alexander Turse and Caroline (Carrie) Lavina Rudlun, on 3 August 1927.¹ Charles Peter Hering died on 12 February 1975 at Park Ridge, NJ.^3,1 He was buried in February 1975 in Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, photo of headstone.

     Frederick J Hering was born on 30 January 1811.² He was baptized on 7 February 1811 in the Dutch Reformed Church at Tappan, Rockland County, NY.² He married Margaret Demarest on 13 August 1833.² Frederick J Hering died on 3 January 1903.² He was buried in Old Hook Cemetery in Westwood.

     There is some dispute about Frederick's middle name, but given the tendency to use the patrynomic in Dutch colonial society, we have presumed that "J" rather than "I", as used by some recorders of his family data, is the correct middle initial.

     Gerrett F Hering was born on 7 June 1837.² He married Jane Amelia Blauvelt. Gerrett F Hering died in 1921 at Montvale, Bergen County, NJ. He was buried in Old Hook Cemetery in Westwood.

     Gerrett F Hering was a cider and sawmill owner.
     From a petition relative to his wife's father's estate, he was living in Montvale as early as February 3, 1882. He served as the borough's first freeholder in 1894. In 1895 he was a "Commissioner of Deed of County of Bergen" (St. Paul's - Ter Kuile deed) and a notary (census). He was Montvale's second Mayor from 1898-1901. (50th p.10) In 1900 he was living in Montvale with his wife "Amelia," ("J. Amelia in 1895), and his occupation was "cider manufacturer and saw mill." "An ad in the 'Circle Hall' program in 1896 listed Garret F. Hering and Son makers of and dealers in sweet sparkling cider."(50th p. 7)
     This mill was previously owned by his father-in-law John J. Blauvelt (See his record.) The pond formed by the mill dam was known for many years as Hering's Pond (later Huff's Pond). His son and later the Huffs conducted an ice making operation on the site.
     Also living with them in 1895 and 1900 was his father, Fredrick J. Haring, who was an 89 year old widower, who was "supported by son."
     In the 1906-7 directory of Montvale Garret was a "station agent", in the 1907-10 he was "comm. of deeds," Garret and Amelia lived at 13 West Grand Ave. in the "Octagon House," built by his father-in-law. Tradition tells us that he flagged down the trains from the belvedere of the Octagon house. He died in Montvale in 1921 and is buried with his wife in the Old Hook Cemetery (now Westwood Cem.), in Westwood, NJ.
     On December 20, 1859, he married Jane "Amelia "Blauvelt. She was the daughter of John J. Blauvelt and Sophia Bogert. She was born in September 1840 (census) or 1844 (gravestone) in Montvale and died in 1922. On 15 Aug 1925 John B. Haring and Evelena Blauvelt exr. of the estate of Amelia Haring
dec'd. sold the land she had received from her father and her husband's estates (including the mill pond and Octagon House) to Fredrick Huff (Bergen Co. Deed 1353-102).

     John F Hering was born on 3 December 1842.³ He was baptized on 15 January 1843 in the Dutch Reformed Church at Tappan, Rockland County, NY.³ He married Hannah Durie, daughter of Nicasie Durie and Maria Demarest, on 9 October 1869. John F Hering died on 18 November 1911.¹

     They resided first at Closter and later in Montvale, NJ on land purchased 5 Aug 1871 from John J. Blauvelt, situated on the southeast corner of Kinderkamack Rd. and Hamilton St. In 1900, John F. was a carpenter living in Montvale, aged 56 years, with his wife Hannah, aged 50, who was born in May 1850, in NJ. The census record indicated they were married 38 years this must be in error for 28 years! The record also indicated that Hannah had given birth to three children all of whom were living. Her parents were both born in New Jersey as well. John F. Harring, carpenter, was listed in the 1906-08 Railroad Directories of Montvale but not in the 1909-10 directory. He d. intestate on 18 Nov 1911 and is buried with his wife at Westwood Cemetery. (formerly Old Hook Cem.) (p.---) On 16 Aug 1920, the heirs sold the homestead property to Joseph Maconkey.
