     A daughter Nellie (Rooze), and a son Cornelius van Dam of Montana, survive him. In view of the marriage date and the last name of Cornelius, these are probably stepchildren. A nephew Stephen Keijzer also survives him. He was living at his nephew's home, when he died.1,2      Martin van Dam is in the 1900 census with his first wife Annie, no children, at an unknown place.4,2 Married name: Hiemstra. She appeared on the census of 1910 at 79 Highland Street, Paterson City (3rd Ward), Passaic County, NJ. with her husband Martin van Damm (36, born in Holland) and adopted son Cornelius (6, born in NJ.)5,2 She appeared on the census of 1920 at 58 East 22nd Street, Paterson City (Ward 10), Passaic County, NJ. with her husband Marten van Dam (46, born in Holland) and son Cornelius (16, born in NJ). Pieternella is then prob. the surviving sister Nellie, Coba is Jacoba.2      Four children of this couple die in Terneuzen.4,2      Her parents were Martinus Wieland and Rachel Riemens.1,2 Name variation: Johanna Hamelinck.3,2 Married name: Hamelink.5,2 She immigrated on 8 November 1910 to 86 East Main Street, Paterson, Passaic County, NJ, on the Noordam, from Rotterdam, arriving in New York on 8 Nov 1910 with three children: Arie (10), Rachel (8) and Pieternella (11 mo), all born in Terneuzen. She was going to her husband an unknown person in 86 East Main Street, Paterson, Passaic County, NJ.3,2 She and Andries Sybrand Hamelink appeared on the census of 1920 at 296 ? Street, Paterson City (3rd Ward), Passaic County, NJ. with seven children: Harry (20), Rachel (18), Nellie (10) all born in Holland, and Lena (9), Marten (7), William (4) and Coba (3), all born in NJ. They immigrated in 1910.5,2
