     He lived circa 1780 at Sugar Loaf, Orange County, NY.2 He was a quartermaster during the Revolutionary War with a rank of Major.2 He and Martha Britton lived in 1782 at Wantage Twp, Sussex County, NJ, on the Papakating.2      In 1793 Thomas puchased about 300 acres of land on Papakating, Frankford Twp. Sussex, NJ. Soon afterward his mother came to live with them until her death in 1811.2

     He and Hannah Fish appeared on the census of 1860. John P Ashbey and Lydia Ashbey were enumerated with them. Also in household is Benjamin Latham (age 14, engaged in fishing). The family is living next door to two FISH families, one with HH Prudence Fish, age 57, and another with HH William S. Fish, age 27.5
