He married Jane McIntyre in 1882 and resided in Central Falls Rhode Island until his death in 1929. William became a naturalized citizen 5 May 1888. William died of a cerebal hemorage and acute lobar pneumonia. On his death certificate his mother is listed as Primose MacNeish. This differs from an earlier record stating her name as Rosina McNish.
