     He was in 1850 a farmer at Niles, Cayuga County, NY.⁴

     Surname from Mapes Newsletter 1989, p 7, needs to be confirmed. This may be the same Hannah Horton who is married to Barnabas Terrill. Married name: Mapes.

     Helen Osborn Horton was born circa 1805.¹ She married Aaron Kortright, son of Lawrence Kortright and Mary Cox, on 31 December 1839. She died in 1846.¹

Assuming Margaret HORTON who married Edwin Warman and Elizabeth Horton who married John WARMAN are sisters. I could not locate any death certificate for Margaret HORTON WARMAN who died in 1894. However, a death certificate for Elizabeth was obtained from New Brunswick Officials for Elizabeth HORTON WARMAN.

Death certificate of Elizabeth HORTON WARMAN names James HORTON and Alice GRUMBLE as her parents. A copy of the headstones in Brown's Yard Cemetary - St Paul's Anglican Church shows James HORTON, died 13 Jan 1882, aged 78. (Puts his birth about 1804. Mary Alice HORTON, wife of James hORTON died 6 Sept 1875, aged 62, putting her birth around 1813. The birthplace of James Horton was listed as Bay du Vin; Alice Grumble was born in York County. A search of land grants or church records turned up many petitions for James Horton in Northumberland between 1785 - 1795 - also one in 1854 - all Northumberland.

Also a petition from a George Grumble in New Brunswick - all bear looking into.

A baptism record of the Chatham Church which included some of the WARMAN baptisms lists a George HORTON, son of James and Elsey HORTON. Do not know for sure whether this is the same James HORTON.(Baptism 1832, born Bay du Vin ) See baptisms under Warman section.

Also the 1861 Census of Weldford Parish lists George HORTON, age 37 and wife Elsy age 47. I feel this is an error as their oldest child George is 24, The woman's name on the baptism might be Elsy - all bears checking into.¹

     Lydia Lemming Horton was born on 13 July 1900 at Washington, DC. She died on 26 July 1986 at Mystic, CT, at age 86.

     Charles Ernest Hosking was born on 15 November 1892.² He married Luella Bartholf, daughter of Gilbert Ackerman Bartholf and Fannie.^1,2 He died on 5 December 1951 at age 59.²

     Charles Ernest Hosking Jr. was born on 12 May 1924 at Ramsey, Bergen County, NJ.¹ He died on 21 March 1967 at Viet Nam at age 42.¹
     He was in 1967 Master Sergeant, Us Army, Company A, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne). Charles was a medal of honor winner having thrown himself on a grenade to save others in his unit. The full text of the commendation is in the Bertholf File. at Phuoc Long, Viet Nam.¹

     Elizabeth Hosking was born in May 1867 at England.¹ She married George Greenslade Medlon.¹
