     Col. Jacob Rutsen was born in 1650.3 He married Maria Hansen Bergen, daughter of Hans Hansen Bergen and Sarah Rapalje, in 1675.1,3 He died in 1730 at Rosendale, NY.3 He was buried in the family burying ground on his estate.3
