Sarah Elma Hancon was in 1920 a school teacher.2 A splendid concert was given at the Haywood Studios in the Columbus Trust Co. building last night by two pupils of Mr. Haywood - Mr. Emil Asker, a tenor of NYC and Miss Elma Hancon, a sorprano of Cornwall. The concert was listened to by a numerous audience and very greatly enjoyed.
Two numbers from Handel's oratorio, Jephtha, were among those most highly appreciated. Mr. Asker sang Deeper and Deeper Still and Miss Hancon, Farewell Ye Limper Streams and Floods.
As a closing duet, the two singers gave the song, Edenland, by Dana.Their voices blended beautifully and the duet was one of the prettiestheard here.
