     Jacob S Frederick was born on 22 March 1829 at Chester, Orange County, NY. He married Mary Jane Smith, daughter of Hophni Smith and Lydia McElroy, on 21 December 1850 at Monroe, Orange County, NY. He died on 17 January 1917 at Sauk Center, MN, at age 87. He was buried on 20 January 1917 in Villard.
     After they were married they came west by ox cart, ferried across Lake Michigan for 60-70 miles and settled Scott County, MN. They moved to Wright County then returned to Scott County before the war. Jacob served in the Minn. Vol Inf. during the Civil War. From 1862 to 1908 they lived in Ashley Twp., Stearns Co. After his wife died he lived with his oldest daughter in Sauk Center.1 Name variation: Jacob Fredericks.

Meyndert Frederickse1

     He emigrated from Van Iveren, The Netherlands.1 He was in 1697 an armorer to the fort at Albany, NY.1
     Myndert and his brother, Carsten, both smiths, were among the early settlers of Beverwyck. They immigrated from Iveren, Holland. They were both Lutherans: Myndert was an elder and Carsten a deacon in 1680. Some of Myndert's descendants took the name of Myndert and others took Van Iveren.1
