My reason to beleive this is:

Arthur was released from the army in January of 1919
In the 1920 census Irene was living with her mother and two brothers s ix months after her marriage and Arthur is not found in the 1920 censu s. I will continue to look for Arthur. He may have re inlisted but i cann ot prove it. More research is needed.). Irene met her fir st husband, Arthur J Mckeon at a party when she was about 16 .They fe ll in love and wanted to get married. when Irene was 15 Her father di ed in 1915 and her mother depended on her working to support her and her t wo younger brothers. Irene and Arthur eloped to NYC and got married on Ju ne 6 ,1919. just a few weeks before her 19th birthday. They had four child ren. In 1931 Arthur died leaving Irene with four children and a mortga ge on a house in Ridgefield Park NJ. The depression came and Irene cou ld not keep up with Raising her four children and working. She was forc ed to put the children into an orphanage lived with her sister Catherine P eters Durham and worked to get enough money to get the children out of t he orphanage. The house she owed a mortgage on was insured by Prudential I nsurance Co. Ben Taylor was an agent for Prudential Insurance Co and Help ed Irene get enough money together to open a candy store in Fairview N J, so she could be independent and not rely on salary. Together they work ed hard to make the store succeed. Ben was at the time Married to a Wom an Named Marion Shunk. They had one child named Marilyn. Ben Divorced H er About1934 and in 1935 he married Irene and one by one took the childr en out of the orphanage. oldest one first. the youngest one lived with Cat herine Durham for a year.

John Peters was 11 years old in 1900 census. He shows up only in the 19 00 Census as John H Peters son , Probably from another Marriage. Jo hn was born in 1888. in NYC. His Mother and father were born in NYC. H is mother's name is not known.

the discrepancy in this Census is that he says in the 1900 census that h is father was born in NY. that could be a mistake of the Census taker.
