     Eugene studied theology at Princeton. He was pastor of Presbyterian churches in Washingtonville, NY and Carlisle, PA. Eugene received a doctor of divinity degree from Dickenson College in 1892. A. Leslie Mapes gives middle name as Luzertie with birth and death dates of 21 Dec 1843 and 27 Jun 1900.

     George H Mapes was born on 15 February 1798 at Sugar Loaf, Orange County, NY. He married Susan Durland, daughter of Joseph Durland and Sarah Sally Satterly, in 1828. He died in 1884. He was buried in the Florida Cemetery in Florida.
     He was in 1880 a farmer at Goshen, Orange County, NY.3
     George's biography is printed in Ruttenber and Clark's 'History of Orange County.' George had a farm in Goshen as well as a public-house at Mapes' Corners in Goshen, which is named after him.2

     Henry Mapes was born on 2 April 1738 at Tappan, Rockland County, NY. He was christened on 30 April 1738 at Dutch Church, Tappan, NY. He married Ruth Rumsey, daughter of Simon Rumsey II and Phoebe Rose, in September 1756. He died in 1783. He died in September 1812 at Monroe, Orange County, NY, at age 74 death date probably much later.
     Henry served as private in Capt. Thomas McKinstry's company, Col. William Malcolm's regiment. There are six Henry's listed in 'New York in the Revolution', 2nd ed., by James A Roberts, 1898, who served in various units. Some or all of them may have been for this Henry who served different enlistments.      A transcript of his will is dated 20 Oct 1812 and was probated 4 Mar 1823. Henry was married to Anna and the father of Amy Mapes who married John Daley. Ham's book indicates that Amy's father was a different Henry Mapes (RIN 2447). Name variation: Hendrik Mapes.

Job's parents not indicated in Ham, The Mapes Family in America, the entire family is missing on page 12 but are listed in the index. Job placed here due to organization of Ham's book.      Job Mapes was elected Vice President of the Mapes Family Association in 1889 and President in 1891. Job was from the Mount Hope branch of the Mapes family.5,3
