Wallerandt Dumont1

     Wallerandt Dumont was born at Coomen (now Comines), Nord, Flanders, France.2,1 He married Margriet Hendricks in January 1664 at Wiltwack (sp?) (Kingston).2 He died between 25 June 1713 and 13 September 1713.2 He died circa August 1713.1
     Name variation: Wallerandt Dumont.2 Name variation: Walron Du Mont.2 Name variation: Wallerand Dumond.2 He emigrated in 1657 from Amsterdam.2      Cadet, 2nd Leutenant in a company of soldiers sent by the Dutch Indies Co. He was a gentleman soldier and came (from Amsterdam) in the ship Draetrat or the Jan Baptist and settled Esopus, 1666.

Two of his sisters came over about 1667 in Spotted Cow, Margaret, wife of Pierre Kovier (Niu) and Elizabeth (afterward Mrs Meynard Jouineau).2

Hugh Dunn Sr1

     Hugh Dunn Sr married Elizabeth Drake, daughter of Francis Drake and Mary Walker, on 19 December 1670 at Piscataway, NJ.1
     Acording to 'Early History of New Jersey' by Samuel Smith, John DUNN sailed from Kirkwell, England on the vessel Bonaventure 1633-33, landed in the Massachusetts Bay, and went to Dover, New Hampshire.

Hugh Dunn, son of John, was included in the Dover Tax List in 1664(NEHGS register Vol 4, page 36, and also in the New Hampshire Record Vol 1, Apr 1664 #4, pg 146. He went from Dover to Piscataway, NJ, settled there under the generous terms of the lords Propuetors of the Privince of New Jersey together with John Martin and harles Gilman. They paid 80 pounds for the land.(See Samuel Smith Early History of NJ) Hugh Dunn married Elizabeth Drake 1670 at Piscataway. She was a daughter of Capt Francis and Mary Drake who were formerly of Portsmouth, NH.

Hugh (Jr) son of Hugh and Elizabeth was born 11 Jan 1716.

First Settlers of NJ 1664-1714 (Monette) Gen 974.9 m748 lists Hugh DUNN as one of the original proprietors of the town (Piscataway), and appears to be the ancestors of other DUNNS there. He was probably the Hugh DUNN, who Savage says was of Dover in 1664. The births of nine of his children are recorded at Piscataway, decendents numerour in NJ.

THE Geneology of the FITZ RANDOLPH FAMILY BY STELLE AND FITZRANDOLPH states that Jeremiah Fitz Rancolph married Ruth DUNN who was born in Piscataway 29 May 1721, a daughter of Hugh (Jr) and Elizabeth (Martin) DuNN.1
