Through a slide presentation, Donald Samick of J&R Lamb Studios will take a look at the development of stained glass windows from the late 1800s to today's modern designs and how the ever shifting national and global economy affected popularity. He will also examine how social and population movements bring about increased interest in religious and domestic stained glass, which affected changes in architectural styles.

Donald has had a 57 year tenure at the J&R Lamb Studios. His late wife's (Donna) son David Bleckman and his wife Kathryn have assumed ownership of the Studio, thus continuing a family tradition of operation since 1857, when Joseph and Richard Lamb founded it.

This program is in relation to recent restoration to George O. Bonawit's stained glass of Old King Cole Series. Bonawit was a Ridgewood resident, and stained glass artist. His stained glass will be on display in the auditorium during the program. *Funding has been made possible in part through grant funds administered by the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, Department of Parks, through a General Operating Support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State.
