Dirck Vreeland married Margriete Banta, daughter of Dirck Epke Banta and Esther Dedricks, on 2 December 1702 at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ. Dirck Vreeland died on 9 December 1773 at age 92. His estate was probated on 9 December 1773.
     Dirk and his wife lived at Wesel. He was a deacon in the Acquackanonk Church 1720 and an elder 1724.

Dirje was the only daughter of Abraham Vreeland and Margrietje VanWinkle. According to Nelson's History of Paterson, NJ, Abraham lived in the limits of Newark just south of Acquackanonk line. He had considerable property. His only daughter Derickee received 135 pounds after his death and wearing apparel of her mother. Cornelis and Dirkje had four children baptized at the Second River (Belleville) DRC. The will of Dirje was proved on 4 June 1795.
Note that Cornelis' last name was spelled Idensse, Edesen, Eidese,Ideson, and Ydese in these records. I believe that he was the brother of Marcellus Edison who married Femmetie Dorhager of het Gansegat on 21 Nov 1741. I also suspect, but can’t prove that Cornelis and Marcellus were brothers-in-law of the widowed mother of John Edison who came from Holland and was the great grandfather of Thomas Alva Edison.

     Dirk Vreeland was born on 11 September 1686. He was christened on 11 October 1686. He married Sitske Dirkse Banta, daughter of Dirck Epke Banta and Esther Dedricks, on 12 May 1716. Dirk Vreeland died on 30 May 1773 at age 86.
     He was a member of the Acquackanonk Church in 1725. Name variation: Dirck Johannes Vreeleand. He left a will on 8 November 1769. proved 9 Dec 1773 (Abstr. of Wills vol. 5, page 558).

     Dirk Vreeland married Maritje Vreeland, daughter of Michiel Hartmansen Vreeland and Elysbet Gerrits Van Ripen. Dirk Vreeland was born on 11 March 1737. He and Antje Banta obtained a marriage license on 1 December 1783.
     After his marriage, they removed to the English neighborhood. During the Revolutionary War he was accused of disaffection and was arrested 11 Jul 1777, jailed at Morristown and released 20 Aug 1778. By deed dated 4 May 1787 (Passaic County Records), Claas Vreeland of Gemoenepa and wife, Ann, Michael D Vreeland of English neighborhood and wife, Margrietie, Michael H Vreeland and wife Garritje of Weasel, and Cornelius H Vreeland and wife, Elizabeth of Weasel conveyed land to Cornelius Sip and wife Beeltie. Mention is made in the deed of Gerrit Vreeland and Dirk Vreeland. This is a deed made by members of the family descended from Michiel Hartmanson Vreeland of Gemoenepa. The said Michael D Vreeland represents Maritje Vreeland, his mother; Michael H Vreeland and Cornelius H Vreeland represent thier father, Hartman M Vreeland; Gerrit Vreeland was dead at the date of said deed and Claas Vreeland and Beeltie(Vreeland) Sip were the only two children of Michiel Harmansen Vreeland surviving at the time of said deed. The fact that Michael d Vreeland, of English Neighborhood, was a party to said deed proves that he was a member of that particular family and that his mother was a daughter of Michiel Harmansen Vreeland. She married Cornelius Hendricksen Blinkerhoff, son of Hendrick Jorisen Brinkerhoff and Claesie Cornelils Bogert, on 24 May 1708 at Bergen Church, Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ. Echtje Vreeland died on 20 February 1761 at age 75.
