     Arthur Samuel Spohn was born on 4 March 1889 at Montclair, Essex County, NJ. He married Lillian Garnett Ridsdale on 11 March 1909 at Montclair, Essex County, NJ. Arthur Samuel Spohn died on 8 June 1958 at Chatham, MA, at age 69. He was buried on 10 June 1958 at Seaside Cemetery, Chatham, Barnstable County, MA.
     The birth certificate of Arthur Spohn which originally showed Span as the name but was corrected in 1941 by certificate ammended. Richard Mann holds birth certificate.

     Information is confirmed with a copy of the birth certificate which I have a copy of. It shows he was born on Bloomfield Avenue but does not show an address.

Information is from the marriage certificate held by Richard Mann from the state of NJ. It shows that he was a Coachman.
The 1880 census shows the last name as Spaun but other certificates show the name as Spohn.
Essex County information shows a John H Spaun born to Henry Spaun on this date. This appears to be the correct information.
The 1870 census shows him living with the family in Montclair.
Information from the cemetery shows him living in ghe Soldier's Home in Kearney, NJ at the time of death and that he died from Septicaemia. Name variation: Henry Spaun John H Spaun, Henry Sphon. He was on 12 August 1885 a coachman.

Harry Mann is the grandfather of Richard Mann.
Richard Mann holds obituary from the paper and a copy of the 1900 Census showing that he was an inmate of the Children's Home in Montclair.
He is listed as a chauffeur and I have pictures of him in his uniform. Family letters addressed to him by a Kate Wallace, who identifies herself as a cousin and her mother as an aunt to his mother who lived in Montclair and refers to family that still lived in Phillipi, WV and his father who reportedly moved to OH where he started a second family that possibly resulted in 2 daughters.
Birth is confirmed by Ashtabula Genealogical Society email 12/5/2003, Probate Court Birth Record Volumn 2 page 276 on LDS microfilm reel 890258.

     Robert James Spohn was buried at Seaside Cemetery, Chatham, Barnstable County, MA. He was born on 10 December 1915 at Montclair, Essex County, NJ. He married Ann Marie Nicoliet on 30 June 1945 at Santa Ana, CA. Robert James Spohn died on 29 July 1986 at Burbank, CA, at age 70.

     William H Spohn was born on 6 May 1894 at Montclair, Essex County, NJ. He died circa 1940.
     Name variation: William H Spawn. He appeared on the census of 1930 at Cedar Grove, NJ. William Risdale letter refers to him being in the service during WWI and possibly being wounded. He is listed in the census as a vet. Except for name and birth date everything else is from the 1930 census. He died shortly after my mother met him which would be some time after 1940. I never met him but did meet his widow as a child.
